Intestinal Toxemia and the 7 Bach Nosodes

During the 1920’s, Dr Edward Bach refined his treatment of intestinal toxemia. He had observed that certain intestinal germs were closely connected with chronic disease and its cure.
He developed vaccines from bacterial cultures, but not liking the use of syringes, he started only prescribing dosages once beneficial effects of the previous dose had worn off. This not only minimized the number of vaccinations given but Bach observed that responses to treatment were better as well.
The dosages of the vaccines were further refined when he was influenced by homeopathic philosophy.

The intestinal organisms were cultured from patient samples in the lab and were then classified into one of seven groups by their fermentation action on sugar:

The theory was that the nosodes cleaned the intestinal tract. An autogenous or polyvalent (from samples of several patients) nosode was prepared and given to each patient.

Given the importance many people assign to a healthy intestinal flora we were going to conclude by stating it would be interesting if some bacteriologists could provide a more modern review these nosodes.
However, just as we were going to place this article on our website, we came across a Swiss pharmaceutical company · "The Relation of Vaccine Therapy to Homoeopathy" - British Homoeopathic Journal, October 1920
· "Intestinal Toxaemia in its Relation to Cancer" - British Homoeopathic Journal, October 1924
· "The Problem of Chronic Disease" - paper read at the International Homoeopathic Congress, 1927
· "The Rediscovery of Psora" - British Homoeopathic Journal, October 1929
· "An Effective Method of Preparing Vaccines for Oral Administration" - Medical World, January 1930
"The Medical Discoveries of Edward Bach Physician" by Nora Weeks. The first 6 chapters of this book also mention additional reference material.
