Colourpuncture

Colour Therapy has existed for centuries. The ancient Egyptians encouraged enlightenment in their temples by shining beams of light through amethysts and rubies. Pythagoras preached the healing properties of colour and sound. The ancient ayurvedic texts mention the healing properties of colour.

Colourpuncture is a combination of conventional colour therapy and Chinese acupuncture. It works like acupuncture but there are no needles and the skin is not punctured.

A detailed diagnosis of the patient’s problems is carried out, and then tailored sets of colours are chosen to stimulate energy levels or redress physical and psychological problems or traumas. Peter Mandel, the founder of Colourpuncture, believed the cause of all illnesses was unresolved conflict.

Treatment consists of using quartz torches (colour shone through rods of quartz) to re-align the energies along a meridian line. By moving the selected quartz torch in light, swift strokes, beaming the light on targeted points of the body, the aim is to iron out energy blockages, resolving psychological traumas.

There are numerous claims for colourpuncture: it acting as a mini-facelift (light stimulating the skin’s collagen); a solution for emotional conflict; an aid for illnesses ranging from migraines to cancer.

Drawbacks: The general energy uplift it gives is suitable for anyone, but claims for psychological benefits and the larger physical claims would need further research.

Cost for Colourpuncture: From £35 - £60 an hour.
