Metamorphic Technique
Metamorphic Technique
Metamorphic Technique was developed in the early Sixties by naturopath Robert St John. It was originally known as prenatal therapy. It is not considered by practitioners to be a therapy or a treatment.
The technique is non-invasive, consisting of a light touch on the feet, hands and head. It is based on the idea that our personality traits were established when we were in the womb. The practitioner is said to focus on the spinal reflex of the areas touched. This is then said to stimulate the power of the body and mind, giving a clearer perspective.
It is one of the only alternative health methods, which makes no medical claims for the cure of specific ailments. After a session, the body and spirit should take care of themselves. You are supposed to get what you want from it.
One of the drawbacks of the technique is that some people may find what exactly the technique is supposed to do for them a bit hazy. And it is certainly not a technique, which would suit the ticklish!
