This chocolate fudge cake was developed by Claudia Leyens after her 7 year old daughter was diagnosed with a number of serious allergies. The cake is guaranteed nut, dairy, soya, GM and egg free.

In extreme cases, food intolerances can lead to anaphylactic shock - a rapid, often life-threatening allergic reaction. During anaphylaxis, the body's immune system packs up and death can be almost instantaneous.

The foods which seem to cause problem are nuts, soya, dairy products, wheat and some fruits.

Many products still suffer from poor ingredient listing and a lack of warnings.
