Eggs and Cholesterol

Eggs do contain cholesterol but it is a complete myth that eggs raise your blood cholesterol.

They are an excellent source of protein, vitamins, minerals and unsaturated fat.

Half of the 5g of fat in an egg is monounsaturated, which actually helps lower the risks of heart disease.

The yolk contains the richest known source of choline, which helps the body make good use of fats – including cholesterol.

However, when you fry eggs, you destroy the beneficial nutrients and damage the 'good' fats.

Healthy eggs come from healthy chickens, so it is always better to buy organic, free-range eggs, laid by chickens that have been fed grains and seed, rather than battery hens which have been fed goodness knows what.
